The New Testament clearly describes that believers knew who was inside and outside of their local church (Matt 18:15-17; 1 Cor 5:12-13; 12:27; 1 Tim 5:9;  Heb 10:25; 13:17). As such, the modern-day context of church membership is simply you raising your hand and saying, “This church is my local church family, and I am committed to it.” Practically speaking, serving at Cornerstone is restricted to church members. Membership also allows our elders to know who has asked to be cared for and shepherded by our team.

Being a member means that you have made a visible and public commitment to join the Cornerstone family. As a member, you commit to give and serve and deal biblically with any conflicts that arise in the church. Being a member also means that you will receive pastoral care and shepherding support and accountability from CBC pastors as well as all the other members. To become a member at Cornerstone, the first step is to attend our two-week membership class called Discover CBC (to see when the next classes are offered and to sign up to attend, click HERE). Next, you'll fill out the CBC membership application (found HERE). Finally, you'll meet with an elder to review your testimony and application.
